The dog likes to make cameos in about 97% of all videos taken at our house. She has an innate ability to always be "in the mix". She was obviously in rare form in this example.

Pete and Repeat

This little girl can go off on a tangent and keep repeating whatever it is that suits her at that moment. Maybe she realizes that she can do something on her own agenda and she just enjoys doing it. Either that or she was trying to set the record for tongue wagging. Or maybe lead singer in a KISS cover band.


Testing the strength of one's own noggin is an important life lesson. One that often takes multiple tests of varying degrees of intensity.

Cory's Birthday and Some Great News

Well, today is Cory's 30th birthday! Where has the time gone? It seems only yesterday he was picking on me at Pappadeaux's - getting on my last nerve. I can't believe we have been together for 9 1/2 years - pretty crazy and I wouldn't trade it for the world! He really didn't want to do anything big for his birthday, so we just had a nice quiet evening at home and hung out with the sweet baby, which is our favorite thing to do these days.

We also got word of some wonderful news. Cory's best friend Jeff and his new wife Emily are now expecting their first addition to their family - due Sept. 18th! We are so extremely happy for them. Cory and I were fortunate enough to attend their wedding the weekend after Thanksgiving and I'm so glad we did. They had such a beautiful wedding and we had such a great time. I decided to include some pictures of their wedding in this post as well as some pictures from Christmas. They were able to drive down to visit. I was looking forward to seeing them both, but mainly to get to know Emily as we were not able to spend much time with them at their wedding. They came to Meemaw's on Christmas day so Jeff could introduce Emily to the fam. Alexa just fell in love with them the minute she met them. It was fun seeing them interact with her. The next day, the four of us went to dinner while Grammy and BB watched the sweet baby (for the first time, I might add -and they did a great job!). We had such a wonderful time! Emily is awesome! She is so easy going and our personalities clicked. Jeff did well for sure. They are going to be such wonderful parents and we can't wait to embark on this ride called parenthood with them. Now if we can only get them back to Dallas...

This makes the 3rd childhood friend of Cory's that is going to be a dad this year. Marcus and Monica Sais are also expecting a little boy early this summer. And... Del Gagos and Aimee are also expecting a little one in August. How fun!!! It's going to be so cool to have all these little ones running around. We are so looking forward to meeting Alexa's new friends. I wonder if anyone is going to have a little girl? Alexa needs a best friend...

Spending Time with Eleni - My Best Friend and Alexa's Godmother

Alexa and I met Eleni at Taco Diner for lunch today. Alexa was being such a ham! She absolutely loves the camera! When she sees the red-eye light come on, she automatically smiles to the point where she almost can't see anymore. We had a wonderful time having a "girl's luncheon" with no icky boys in sight!

Alexa pulling herself up

While Alexa was playing with her new gift from Grammy, she began the process of learning to pull herself up! While she was seated on the ground, she just leaned forward, and reached up as high as she could, trying her best to stand up. I was there to help her get on both feet, but she was more or less standing there, as excited as could be!

Another thing that has been a long time coming, happened today. She got tired enough to just fall asleep and take a nap in her swing! She would usually need some consoling to take a nap, but not this time! She's getting to be a big girl now...
